Vision Simulators | Low Vision Movie
A low vision exam begins with the patient's medical history. This covers, but is not limited to, any previous vision exams, what vision is like for the patient at home and at school, and any magnifiers that have been tried and are currently used.
After the medical history is covered a few vision exams are performed. The patient will look at a couple of vision charts. Some from close up and some from a distance. This will vary depending on the patient's vision level. The patient may next try out some lenses of varying magnifications.
After these exams the low vision doctor has an idea of what the patient's low vision needs are. In most cases the patient will then try different low vision magnifiers to see which suits him/her best.
